Big City Starlings – Berlin's New Winter Guests

Nature & Wildlife 43' 2024 HD

For several winters already, the Berlin-Alexanderplatz railway station has been home to an ever-growing flock of starlings. The blackbird-sized songbird is a migratory bird in the east – but while most of its fellows spend the cold season in southern climates, the cold Berlin winter does not seem to deter this adventurous group at all. Quite the opposite: Self-confident and cheeky, the starlings have taken Alexanderplatz by storm – and with it the hearts of the urbanites.
